St Edward's Fest goes off with a Bang!

17/07/2026

Last Saturday, St Edward's held their first St Edward's Fest. What an amazing day with people coming from all over the borough and further afield, to join us, celebrate a great community day in the Church Grounds. Bouncy Castles, animals, ice cream, some fabulous local acts, and lots of games. It was a great day, and the Romford community really came together in the sunshine, to laugh, join together, chat and enjoy life. All in the fabulous surroundings of St Edward's Church.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, either by volunteering, making cakes, making sure the church stayed open or just came and spent time with us. We made circa £3700 - a massive amount for the church. Thank you Romford!

Crochet or Knit? We need you!

17/07/2026

Despite the temperatures, we are already thinking about November!

If you have ever popped along to our church in November - you can't fail to be impressed by our fabulous poppy display. Every poppy in the church is handmade by a member of our community.

This year we are hoping to go bigger and better. Are you a crocheter or a knitter?  If so, then would you consider giving up some time to knit or crochet some poppies for our display. If you are, please reach out to the church office, or pop them into the church.  We are not worried about size or a set pattern - the main thing is they are all different.

Thank you so much for your support in advance!

PLEASE HELP!

22 January 2026

We are the focal point of Romford Market, and are proud to be so, but we need your help!

You may have seen some scaffolding up at the church, as we have a leaky roof and windows, that have seen better days. To stay where we are, we need funds! If you can spare any money for a small donation we would be really grateful - every little helps us repair our 175 year old church.

Thank you!

More Tea Vicar!

22 May 2026

We had a wonderful few hours in the vicarage garden sipping tea, eating cake, and enjoying good company together.

The real highlight was having 28 people gathered from across our Wednesday and Friday congregations, as well as our Sunday 8am and 10am services. It was so lovely to see the wider St Edward’s family come together in one place.

A simple morning, but a really special reminder that church is about friendship and community as well as worship. 🍰🌿
