Church of England churches are entirely self-financing. St. Edward's can only operate because of the generosity and commitment of its members funding our worship and our work.
FUNDRAISING
St. Edward's Church depends entirely on its regular congregation, friends and visitors to keep us running. We run Fundraising Events to raise additional funds and have fun and fellowship at the same time.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
There are always lots of
opportunities for people to support the work of the church by giving some time each week through volunteering.
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Like every adult and company we do have bills …..

We have a lovely and historic building to maintain

We have a church to heat and light and to decorate

We have all the mundane things like phone bills to settle

We have a Diocesan “quota” to pay

In fact, we have more bills than will fit on this page!
But this page is not just asking you for money – it is simply to explain some of the ways we fund these bills and more importantly, to show you how, with minimal time and effort, you can make a real and substantial difference.

Come and join in our Fundraising Events
Do you love a bargain?
Come to our May Fayre and Christmas Bazaar held each year
Do you go shopping in Romford?
Pop into the Church Coffee Shop to enjoy a drink and lovely food
Do you pay Income Tax?
Covenant your giving to the Church. At no cost to yourself the Church gets extra from HMRC. If you are a higher rate tax payer, you will get a tax refund too. Details from our Treasurer and/or Stewardship Administrator
Do you care about the future?
Consider making a legacy to the Church in your Will – many people do and you can indicate how you would prefer it to be used
Do you have an unexpected windfall?
A small slice of your good fortune could make a real difference to a Church Project
